Welcome to The Federation of Chalvedon School and Sixth Form College and Barstable School. The Federation of Chalvedon School and Sixth Form College and Barstable School is in Basildon, Essex. The Federation was formed at the beginning of 2006 from two well established secondary schools serving the East Basildon Area. Chalvedon School and Sixth Form College is a Technology College and Leading Edge School. It also houses the Coordinator for the Local Service Delivery Group and acts as the host school for a School Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT) organisation covering 4 schools in South Essex, Southend and Thurrock. It has over 1800 pupils and more than 190 students currently in the Sixth Form. Due to its strengths and commitment to a high standard of education the school is annually over subscribed. Barstable School is a Comprehensive school which caters for pupils between the ages of 11 and 16. It is a sports hub for the area and is a fast improving school with good links to the local community and to its junior schools. In the Ofsted reports of both Schools held in October 2006 and February 2007, the Federation has been praised for its outstanding leadership and for many areas of its work. The Federation provides a firm platform for the development of a sound secondary education for pupils within East Basildon.
